The ensemble MUSICA NOVA likes making share its passion for the polyphonic directories of the Middle Ages, the Renaissance and the Pre-baroque.
Known and recognized unanimously by the criticism in 2002, during the exit(release) of its first CD dedicated to the motets of Machaut, the ensemble, far from giving in to the ease of the success, chose to continue a work of unprecedented bottom. Consisted on the base of a nucleus from 5 to 8 singers avid to deepen ceaselessly their vocal and musical knowledge, the ensemble approaches the works considered as the most difficult. So, the compositions of Ockeghem, Dufay, Agricola and Machaut establishes the directory of preference of MUSICA NOVA.
Aware of the requirement which imply these directories, singers' team stays the same but can grow rich, according to the programs, to the instrumentalists chosen as their motivation and their competence. MUSICA NOVA is in residence in the Abbey of Royaumont since 2007. |
