CAPILLA CAYRASCO
Of the secret consolations of the soul. Masses by Ockeghem & Josquin with voces and instruments. Programme inspired by the treatise writer Johannes Tinctoris (c1435-1511). Tinctoris defends the inclusion of his favourite instruments, the viol and the rebec, in the performance of sacred music of his time.

Music for the first Capilla of the Cathedral of el Real de Las Palmas. Works by Pierre de la Rue, Josquin des Prez & Francisco de Peñalosa. The first music chapel in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Cathedral was created at the beginning of the 16th Century. This programme shows the type of sound and repertoire of that first musical institution in the Canary Islands.

Morales: Missa Si bona suscepimus. 'Música divina' for the Duke of Arcos. Cristóbal de Morales was maestro de capilla at the court of the Duke of Arcos in Marchena (Seville) from 1547 to 1551. His beautiful mass for 6 voices is presented here combined with fantasias and instrumental sacred duos by Fuenllana & Henestrosa.

Devotions of William V 'The Pious'. Orlande de Lassus and the chapel of the Duke of Bavaria. William V 'the Pious' showed a keen attachment to the spirit of the Counter-Reformation. This programme presents music by Lassus, chapelmeister of the Duke, and by Palestrina, the chief representative of Music of the Counter-Reformation, in a performance more intimate than usual. The use of stringed instruments sweetens the music in a very special way: an original approach yet historical, faithful to Lassus's chapel at the Bavarian Court.
